CHARLES (KING CHARLES)- Traditional Broadway Baritone to G. One of Eddie’s Marine buddies, Bernstein is the naïve and eager member of the trio. He’s desperate to prove himself to the others but often ends up the target of their teasing. This role calls for strong comedic instincts, energy, and a solid ensemble voice that blends well in group numbers.

LEWIS – Bari-Tenor. Lewis is Pippin’s half-brother and polar opposite—confident, smug, and completely comfortable with traditional success. He lacks Pippin’s depth but excels in charisma and entitlement. The actor should lean into comedy, arrogance, and self-assurance, creating a sharp contrast that highlights Pippin’s struggle.

BERTHE – Character Alto to C#5- Pippin’s grandmother and one of the show’s most memorable characters. Berthe is bold, witty, unapologetically alive, and deeply wise beneath her humor. She encourages Pippin to live fully and without fear. This role requires impeccable comic timing, vocal confidence, and a commanding presence—someone who can steal the stage while delivering heartfelt truth.

CATHERINE- Mezzo with Mix to E5. Catherine is a widowed mother who represents simplicity, honesty, and unconditional love.
